The Flood of September 2009 destroyed a lot in the Town of Trion.  One of the things damaged were the town’s Christmas decorations.  The Trion Christmas Committee has released this statement:

Unfortunately Trion’s Christmas decorations were destroyed in the recent flood, but the Christmas Committee would like to encourage all citizens to get into the spirit and decorate our town for Christmas. We can make this a jolly time of year by putting out our lights and letting our neighbors enjoy them along with our families.

On Tuesday night, December 15, the judges will tour throughout the town about 7: 00 p.m. Be sure to have your Christmas lights turned on so they can be seen by the judges.
Prizes will be given for the best displays of Christmas lights. First place will receive $100., second place is $75., and third place will be $50. There will also be five runners-up. The prizes will be awarded at the Council meeting at 6:00 p. m. on December 17.
