A first half that produced only one first down and several turnovers put Trion in a early hole they would be unable to overcome. Armuchee took a 26-7 lead into halftime. Trion’s only score in the first half come on a 67 yard touchdown run by sophomore quarterback Corey Bethune. Trion played a much better second half playing solid defense and executing better on offense but it wouldn’t be enough.
Trion scored once more in the 4th quarter on a 6 yard touchdown run by senior running back Blake Bethune but Armuchee would respond with a touchdown of their own to make the final score 33-13. Trion will host Lafayette next week and welcome back long time Bulldog head coach Tab Gable to Sam R. McCain stadium as the Ramblers will be coming off a tough, last minute 21-20 defeat to Chattooga.
