A Trion man has been arrested and charged with Rape and Battery according to reports from the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Department.

28 Year Old Kristopher Ryan King of a Rose Circle address in Trion was charged by the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Department and booked into the jail around 7:30 pm on Wednesday on charges of rape and battery.

AM 1180 Chattooga County Radio News spoke with Sheriff Ralph Kellett this (Thursday) afternoon.  Kellett said that King was being charged with rape and battery stemming from an incident in May of 2007.  Since that time King had left the area and was arrested and incarcerated in another jurisdiction.  After being released King was arrested on the rape and battery charges and brought back to Chattooga County.

Kellett said that at this time there is some question if the charge of rape and battery can keep King in jail, that’s because law enforcement officials are not able to locate the victim.  AM 1180 Chattooga County Radio News will give you more details as they become available.
