Voters going to the polls in Trion this November will see several contested positions on the ballot including the post of Mayor.

At the last minute several candidats qualified last Friday for the various positions on the Trion Town Council and the mayor’s seat.  Incumbent Mayor Benny Perry will face opposition from current town councilman Johnny Ingle. 

Councilman Chris Woods will be facing opposition from Donald Harris.  Also Councilman Ingle’s position will be open since he is running for mayor.  Three candidates have qualified for that seat including former Mayor Lanny Thomas.  He will be facing off against Bobby Ward who held a council seat in Trion under Mayor Donny Hayes’ term in office and also Kari Maddux has qualified for the seat.

Council seat three will see a race between incumbent Mickey McGraw and challegers Paula Arden and Kasey Brown.

Elections will be held November 3rd.
