The Trion City School system is facing declining revenues from the Georgia Department of Education for the upcoming year.  Around a $1.4 million shortfall is expected and the system has already made a number of budget cuts for the upcoming budget year including six furlough days for employees and the elimination of positions.  The system has also already cut $10,000 from middle school athletics and a $40,000 cut for a 4th and 5th grade computer lab.  A budget workshop is scheduled for this coming Monday at 6:30 PM at the Board office in Trion.
