The Trion Town Council met in a combined monthly work session and meeting on Thursday evening at 5 PM at the Trion Town Hall.

Council members heard from Trion residents who were concerned about the clean up going on after the flood.  Councilman Chris Woods responded to a comment by a resident about the use of prison inmates in flood cleanup by reminding citizens that prison inmates can only be used on public property.  They can not be used to do any clean up on private property.

Councilman John Simmons mentioned that Commissioner Jason Winters and Public Works Director Lamar Canada had been extremely helpful and had aided the Town of Trion in the cleanup since the flood.  Mayor Benny Perry echoed Councilman Simmons’ statements and added that the county had provided needed manpower and equipment to the town during the aftermath of the flood.
