A memorial to honor Trion’s deceased veterans is being planned for 1 p.m. on Nov. 12 at the Trion track field pavilion. The town will be erecting 304 crosses and flags around the track. That’s 25 more than last year. Retired USMC Col. and current Chattooga County School Superintendent Jimmy Lenderman will be speaking at the event. Joseph Croy will play Taps on the trumpet and Jana Chance will sing the national anthem, according to an event organizer.
