In the weekly media report from the Georgia State Patrol post in Rome, Trooper R.M. Sowell reported an accident with injuries on the Lyerly Highway last Friday.
According to the report, Loretta Reynolds of a Highway 114 Lyerly address was travelling on north on Highway 114 near the intersection of Ragland Road when the accident occured. Reynolds stated that she was talking on her cell phone and could not remember the details of the accident.
Reynolds 1995 Isuzu Trooper travelled into the east shoulder of Highway 114 and she lost control of the vehicle. The front of her vehicle struck a tree stump that was attatched to a barb wire fence causing the vehicle to go into a counterclockwise spin and ended up rolling over in a field.
Reynolds was transported to Floyd Medical Center by Chattooga County EMS.
