An accident on Highway 48 Tuesday morning sent a Summerville woman to the hospital with non- life threatening injuries; according the Georgia State Patrol Post in Rome, the accident occurred at 8 AM when a 2000 Ford Expedition driven by Lynda Bryant of Lyerly pulled into the path of a 1995 Toyota driven by Lynda Roulane of Summerville. According to the report, Bryant was sitting at the intersection of Filter Plant Road and Highway 48 when she pulled into the path of Roulane who was traveling west on Highway 48. Roulane struck a third unknown vehicle that was sitting at the intersection of Mahan Road and Highway 48 when she was hit by Bryant’s vehicle. The driver of the third vehicle left the scene of the accident. The Georgia State Patrol did not issue any citations, but did give Bryant a warning as a result of the accident.
