Rome Police say a man, now identified as 26 year old Shalimar Cunningham, was shot at about 3:00pm Thursday in north Rome, on Evans Street near the intersection with Howell Street. The call came-in as a shooting at Eagle Park, and as police were en-route to that location, the victim walked into Floyd Medical Center suffering from gunshot wounds. Nearby neighbors said that they heard about 10 shots being fired, and saw a newer model Chevy Suburban turn the corner from Howell Street onto Callahan, with two black males, one with braided hair, jumping out of the vehicle. According to witnesses, the Suburban then continued to travel west on Callahan Street with what appeared to be two additional black males inside. The two suspects who jumped from the vehicle ran away in the same direction. Police have confirmed that one suspect has been arrested and the search continues for the others who may have been involved. Quavarez Marquel Cunningham is currently in custody and warrants have been issued for Deavonti Daniel. Shalimar Cunningham was listed in stable condition at Floyd Medical Center.
