There was a minor two vehicle accident this morning on Highway 27 at the intersection with Penn Bridge Road. According to Office Shores from GSP Post 38 in Rome, the mishap occurred at 1132 AM. Sheila Willingham was traveling south on Highway 27 in the outside lane when she slowed down to turn right onto Penn Bridge Road. A 2003 Ford Mustang driven by Stephany Scoggins struck Ms. Willingham’s 1999 Mercury Sable in the rear. While there were no serious injuries, Ms. Willingham did complain of some discomfort. Ms. Scoggins was cited for following too closely.
