A "SELF-DEFENSE" ARGUMENT PROVED SUCCESSFUL FOR MARK WHITE, IN HIS MURDER TRAIL IN WALKER COUNTY SUPERIOR COURT.  FRIDAY, THE JURY TOLD THE JUDGE THEY WERE HOPELESSLY DEADLOCKED ON TWO COUNTS… AND THEY FOUND WHITE NOT-GUILTLY ON FOUR CHARGES.  HE WAS CHARGED WITH MURDER IN THE STABBING DEATH OF WILLIAM DILLARD, AFTER A FIGHT OUTSIDE OF WHITE’S HOME IN LAFAYETTE LAST SUMMER.

JUDGE KRISTINA COOK GRAHAM DECLARED A MISTRIAL ON FELONY MURDER AND POSSESSION OF A KNIFE CHARGES.  THE NOT GUILTY VERDICTS INCLUDED CHARGES OF MALICE MURDER AND AGGRAVATED ASSAULT.  THE JURY WAS OUT FOR THREE DAYS OF DELIBERATION.  THERE IS THE POSSIBILITY OF A RE-TRIAL ON TWO CHARGES
