Thursday morning crews were working to restote power to approximately 2000 customers in Chattooga County impacted when a tree fell on three phase power lines and broke a utility pole on Hollow Road. Power was expected to be restored by mid-morning to early afternoon, said officials with North Georgia Electric Membership Corporation.
Power outage reports began around 4:30 a.m. and NGEMC crews have been working all morning to repair damged lines and restore power to customers as quickly as possible. During a power outage, please stay away from downed lines and report them immediately to North Georgia EMC or call 911.
North Georgia EMC serves 99,000 customers in portions of Catoosa, Chattooga, Floyd, Gordon, Murray, Walker and Whitfield counties.
