On Friday Suspended Chattooga County Judge Carlton Vines, entered a plea of not guilty in Cartersville, in response to charges of Election Fraud. 

Vines is charged with the Illegal Possession of Ballots, Conspiracy to Commit Election Fraud and False Swearing in connection with the November 2006 general election. Circuit Judge Carey Nelson of Bartow County, was given that case after all the judges in the Lookout Mountain Circuit were recused. Motions in the case are due later this month, and the trial is expected to begin in January.
