One of Volkswagen’s biggest suppliers plans to build another plant in North America to support the automaker’s Chattanooga facility, a trade publications says.

Chattanooga’s economic development agency has had talks with the company, which Automotive News identified as French parts supplier Faurecia.

"We’ve had conversations with Faurecia, but at this time we have no further information that the company may be building an additional factory," said J.Ed. Marston, the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce’s vice president of marketing.

Stacie Tong, communications director for Faurecia North America, said she did not have more details.

VW is Faurecia’s largest global customer, accounting for about 24 percent of 2008 revenues of $17.6 billion.
