After realizing her debit card was missing, a customer returned to the last store she visited to ask if anyone found the card — only to find that a store employee may have charged nearly $300 on her card, reports stated.

According to Rome police reports:

The complainant stated she purchased some items at the Walgreens at 701 Martha Berry Blvd. on Sunday evening. The following morning she realized the card was missing and contacted the store to no avail.

Checking her bank account, she noted several purchases had been made on the card — two of which were from the Walgreens. Police reviewed video surveillance and noticed that the cashier scanned several items and used a card to pay for those items.

Another purchase was made charging the card at a nearby service station later in the evening as well.

No arrests have been made in the alleged theft.
