The Walker County Deputy who shot and killed a suspect earlier this week will be returning to normal duty on Monday.  According to reports, Deputy Terry Williams was placed on a 72 hour administrative duty assignment, standard procedure in a shootingincident.

Williams is a 13 year veteran of law enforcement and has received the full support of Walker County Sheriff Steve Wilson.  Wilson said that the officer “handled the situation well.”

The deputy was attempting to serve a warrant on 34 year old Rossville resident John Curtis Coates when the suspect pulled a gun and shot a Ft. Oglethorpe Police officer, whose bullet proof vest saved his life.
