A PRISONER HANGED HIMSELF IN THE WALKER COUNTY JAIL OVER THE WEEKEND.  36 YEAR OLD CHARLES LEE COCHRAN OF ROSSVILLE WAS FOUND HANGING BY HIS T-SHIRT AROUND 2:20 SATURDAY MORNING, ACCORDING TO SHERIFF STEVE WILSON.  DETENTION OFFICERS AND EMT’S IMMEDIATELY BEGAN LIFE-SAVING EFFORTS, TO NO AVAIL.  COCHRAN HAD BEEN PICKED UP BY ROSSVILLE POLICE FRIDAY NIGHT ON A DISORDERLY CONDUCT CHARGE AND WAS BEING HELD IN THE WALKER COUNTY DETENTION CENTER IN LAFAYETTE.  THE GBI WILL INVESTIGATE THE HANGING.  THE BODY WAS TAKEN TO THE STATE CRIME LAB FOR AUTOPSY.
