CIVIL WAR BUFFS WILL FIND INTERESTING ACTIVITIES AT THREE AREA SITES THIS WEEKEND.  IN DOWNTOWN CHICKAMAUGA, IT’S THE 9th ANNUAL "WAR BETWEEN THE STATES DAY" SATURDAY.  A BARBECUE COOK-OFF WILL HONOR THE GREAT BLUE AND GRAY BARBECUE OF 1889.  THERE WILL BE RE-ENACTMENTS AND DEMONSTRATIONS OF CIVIL WAR CAMP LIFE. ADMISSION IS FREE AND THE EVENT RUNS ALL DAY THIS SATURDAY.  CHICKAMAUGA BATTLEFIELD WILL HOST PROGRAMS COMMEMORATING THE ANNIVERSARY OF THE BATTLE THERE… THIS THURSDAY THROUGH SUNDAY.  EVENING PROGRAMS, HISTORY WALKS, TALKS AND TOURS WILL BE HELD THROUGHOUT THE EXTENDED WEEKEND. 

THERE WILL ALSO BE INFANTRY AND ARTILLERY CAMPS, OPEN EACH DAY TO THE PUBLIC.  CALL THE BATTLEFIELD VISITORS CENTER AT 706 866 9241 FOR MORE INFORMATION.  AND FINALLY, THE BATTLE OF TUNNEL HILL RE-ENACTMENT IS SET FOR THIS SATURDAY AND SUNDAY. THE EVENT WILL BE HELD FROM 9 – 4 BOTH DAYS… WITH BATTLES SET FOR 2 PM.  ADMISSION IS $5 FOR ADULTS AND $3 FOR CHILDREN 3 – 12. PARKING AT THE TUNNEL HILL RE-ENACTMENT IS FREE.
