The Chattooga County Water District Board met on Tuesday evening May 12 at the Water District Office in Trion.  Without a lot on the agenda it was a rather short meeting.  Chairman of the Board Mike Dawson was not at the meeting nor was Chattooga County Commissioner Jason Winters; also one board member, Tommy O’Kelley was absent.

Members present discussed the progress of the Gore-Subligna Water Project as well as the Shinbone Valley Area Water Project.  Also, the board had a short discussion about the need for another backhoe and additional laborer as the water district expands.

During last month’s meeting the Water District Board voted to approve an "amnesty" period for water customers in the Gore-Subligna area to sign up for Water Service at a reduced rate.  Chattooga County Commissioner Jason Winters is expected to release more information on the "amnesty" period and reduced rate sometime today.
