The Chattooga County Water District Board will meet this evening at 6 PM at the Water District Office on Old Highway 27 in Trion. The Board is expected to approve bids for the completion of Phase II of the Chattooga County Water Project.
Extremely hot temperatures and dry weather are prompting concern from some Chattooga County residents that are currently on well water. Commissioner Jason Winters and Board Chairman Sammy Lee scheduled tonight’s meeting so that the bids can be awarded and work can get underway as soon as possible.
Commissioner Winters told AM 1180 that with the completion of the project over 80% of Chattooga County’s residents will have access to the county’s water system.
