The Chattooga County Water District met in their regular monthly meeting on Tuesday and narrowed the field of applicants for two positions with the water district down to two.
Over 90 applications were submitted to the water district for the two jobs. After narrowing the field down to 11 applicants, the water board interviewed 6 people at a specially called meeting on October 27. Tuesday evening 5 more applicants were interviewed. The field was narrowed down to 4 applicants who will be called for a second interview on November 19th.
Chattooga County Commissioner Jason Winters said, "This is hard. (We) know that all of these are good people that need jobs." The water district is looking to hire the two additional employees because of the added work load brought about by the Cloudland and Gore-Subligna water projects.
