The Chattooga County Water District will be raising the rates for existing water customers beginning in June.  The Water District Board voted on Tuesday evening to implement the rate increase which had already been approved by the board in an earlier meeting.  The rate increase does not apply to new customers in the Gore-Subligna area who are already paying a higher rate than existing customers.  The average bill will see a $4 to $5 increase and it will put the minimum monthly bill for Water District customers in the Trion and Teloga areas up to $12.30 per month.
