The higher elevations of Chattooga County began seeing some snow fall this morning before 3 AM.  However, the temperatures in the valley remained above the freezing mark.  Snow was falling on Lookout Mountain, covering grassy areas and roof tops in some areas.  At 5:15 this morning the temperature in downtown Summerville remained at 36 degrees.

The Weather Channel says that we will see snow fall this morning, mixing with rain and a slushy mix until around noon.  The precipitation will give way to a cloudy sky this afternoon with a high today of 42 degrees.  The clouds will push out tonight and it will be very cold – down to 22 degrees.
