Local governments across the state of Georgia are dealing with declining revenues and budget issues. In Northwest Georgia Walker County and Catoosa County have both announced increased millage rates to help cover the short-fall in their budgets. Chattooga County Commissioner Jason Winters is still reviewing the tax digest and making the decision about the millage rate in Chattooga County.
Winters will be in the AM 1180 studios on Tuesday morning to discuss the millage rate and the county’s revenues. The interview will take place after the 8 AM news. Winters said that an announcement about the millage rate could be expected in the next few days.
