Residents of Lyerly are eager to see the Lyerly Dam Bridge be repaired.  The closing of the bridge has interrupted the every day life of some residents in the Lyerly area and has affected businesses in the area as well.   AM 1180 Chattooga County Radio spoke with Chattooga County Public Works Director Lamar Canada on Thursday evening who told us that, despite the rainy weather, work on the Lyerly Dam Bridge appears to be moving ahead on schedule.   Last month, Commissioner Jason Winters said that county workers had removed a large amount of asphalt from the bridge and that the repairs being made to the bridge should put it in good shape for the next five years or so.   Workers are replacing bolts and gusset plates on the bridge and the work is expected to be completed this summer.
