Chattooga County Public Works Director Lamar Canada told AM 1180 late Friday afternoon that work is still progressing on Smallen Road in the Oak Hill area of the County.
The work began on Tuesday of this week, as the county installed a new tile to replace one that had rusted away causing the road to sink. Initially the county had hoped to have the road opened by Friday evening. Cananda said that because of the large amount of filling in that had to be done, work crews would be called in on Saturday to finish up the job.
Canada said that if all goes well on Saturday morning, the road should re-open around 1 PM Saturday afternoon.
