Emergency workers were called to the scene of a wreck on Sunnydale road. The accident occured when a 19 year old male lost control of the older model Dodge Diesel Truck he was driving and struck a tree. Emergency personell on the scene told AM 1180 Chattooga County Radio that speed and the weather conditions were a factor in the wreck.
According to emergency personell, the impact of the truck striking the tree was so severe that the engine to the truck was located in the middle of the road and tools from the truck were thrown up to 100 feet away from the scene of the accident.
The victim has not been identified, but he was taken to Floyd Medical Center with what is reported to be life threatning injuries.
