A wreck at the intersection of Cave Spring Street and Park Road involving a Floyd County Public Works truck sent an infant and an inmate to the hospital Monday afternoon, police said.

According to Steven Riley of the Floyd County Police Department:

The truck, driven by Danny Franks, 43, was attempting to make a left turn from Cave Spring Street onto Park Road when it was hit from behind by a Nissan driven by Amanda Davis, 20, of Miami Drive.

An infant in Davis’ car was taken to the hospital as a precaution but did not appear to have visible injuries. The infant was properly restrained in the vehicle, Riley said. Davis complained of arm and back pain and was taken to the hospital.

A Floyd County Jail inmate who was in the public works truck was taken to the hospital with complaints of neck pain. His name was not released.

The truck sustained minor damage.

Davis was cited for following too closely.
