Incumbent Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene is the presumptive Republican candidate for Georgia’s 14th Congressional District. No Republicans have stepped up to challenge Greene in the primary, but several Democrats – including a Chattooga County resident and a retired U.S. Army Brigadier General have announced their decisions to run as Democrats.
Greene has raised $2.73 million for the race.
The only Democrat to raise over $100,000 is Shawn Harris a retired Army brigadier general who spent two years as the primary diplomat representative on the behalf of the U.S. Secretary of Defense and the Chairman, and Joint Chiefs of Staff, to Israel. Harris is a native of Early County and now operates a grass-fed cattle farm in Rockmart.
Three other Democrats have thrown their hat into the ring. Tambrei Cash of Powder Springs describes herself as an “empty-nester” mother of three. Joseph Leigh is a Catoosa County native who has a cabinet-making business in Chattanooga and lives in Rossville. Rounding out the list of Democrats in Chattooga County resident Bart Bryant who lives at Cloudland.
