Pond Spring AME Zion Church Twelve Tribes of Israel in Lyerly is inviting the community to come together for an afternoon of music and fellowship later this month.

The church will host a Gospel Jamboree at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 26. Organizers say church and community choirs are welcome to participate in the event, which will celebrate gospel music and community spirit.

Refreshments will be served following the program.

The church is located at 3255 Taliaferro Springs Road in Lyerly. The event is open to the public, and Pastor Rev. Dr. J. Turner Holt encourages everyone to attend.

Grace, Grit & Gumption: A Grateful Girls Gathering

Calvary Baptist Church in Summerville is preparing to welcome women from across the community for its annual Ladies’ Spring Banquet.

This year’s event, titled “Grace, Grit & Gumption: A Grateful Girls Gathering,” is scheduled for Saturday, May 2 at 1 p.m. at the church. Organizers say the banquet is designed to provide a time of fellowship, encouragement, and worship for women of all ages.

The afternoon will feature a Tex-Mex buffet, special music, and a program centered on faith, testimony, and spiritual renewal. Musical guest Scarlet Wool is expected to provide worship music throughout the event.

Church leaders say the gathering will include personal stories and teaching aimed at uplifting and inspiring attendees, while also creating a space for women to connect and reflect. The event theme is based on Galatians 2:20, emphasizing faith and personal growth.

Organizers are encouraging women to invite friends and family members to attend as the church prepares for one of its most anticipated annual events.

Second Baptist Church- Annual Women’s Day Celebration

Second Baptist Church of Summerville will host its Annual Women’s Day Celebration on Sunday, April 26 at 2 p.m.

The event will take place at the church, located at 65 Church Street in Summerville, and is open to the public.

Organizers say the program will feature guest speaker Apostle Terri Mayes of Greater Refuge Ministries in Rome. The celebration will focus on fellowship, unity, and faith, with attendees encouraged to come together in support of one another.

There’s Hope for the Hungry at Central Avenue Baptist Thursday

There’s Hope for the Hungry will be at the Central Avenue Baptist Church in Trion this week on Thursday, April 9, to give away free groceries. Come between the hours of 10:00 am and 1:00 pm to get your free groceries. No ID is required. But, you must be present to receive the food. The free Clothes Closet will also be available from 10:00 until 12:30.

A Maundy Thursday Communion Service will be held April 2 at 7 p.m. Easter Sunday on April 5 begins with a sunrise service at West Hill Cemetery at 7:30 a.m., followed by Sunday School at 10 a.m. and worship at 11 a.m.
