The Summerville Seventh-day Adventist Church will host a “Whole-Health Weekend” June 18th through June 20th featuring international speaker Mariola Porras.
According to event organizers, the weekend will focus on practical, faith-based presentations centered on mental, spiritual, and whole-person wellness.
Evening sessions are scheduled for Thursday and Friday at 7 PM, with additional Sabbath presentations planned for Saturday at 9:45 AM, 11 AM, and 2 PM.
Organizers say free one-on-one coaching sessions will also be available during the event.
The event is designed to encourage healthy living and help individuals discover purpose through whole-health principles.
Central Avenue Baptist Church in Trion will host Vacation Bible School May 31 through June 3 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. each night.
The event is open to children from Pre-K through 12th grade and will include faith, fun, friends, food, games, worship, and lessons focused on learning more about Jesus.
Dinner will be provided nightly.
The church is located at 14074 U.S. Highway 27 in Trion.

To kids of all ages, Lyerly Community Church will be having their annual Vacation Bible School on June 20th from 10-1 pm. Put On Your Armor for God is our theme this year. We will have bible school lessons, crafts and water games, plus provide lunch for everyone. Kids should bring a towel and wear clothes that can get wet. Singing at Chapel Hill Full Gospel, 2225 Butler Dairy Road, on May 23rd at 6pm. The singers will be The Harvester’s. Everyone is welcome!
A community fundraiser will be held Saturday, May 9th, to support Anthony Mathis and help with medical bills and expenses.
The benefit event will take place from 12 p.m. until 3 p.m. at Spring Creek Baptist Church, located at 2629 Spring Creek Road in Trion.
The fundraiser will feature several activities and attractions including BBQ plates, a bake sale, silent auction, and the North Georgia Cruisers Car Show.
Organizers say all proceeds from the event will go directly toward helping Anthony Mathis with ongoing medical-related expenses.
Community members are invited to attend, enjoy food and fellowship, and show their support for the Mathis family.
The event is being hosted by Spring Creek Baptist Church in Trion.
