A sixty-two-year-old Summerville man was arrested on Thursday of last week after police were called to a house on Hawkins Drive. When police arrived, they spoke with the man’s elderly mother who said that her son had become angry and broken several glass items inside the house and the mailbox outside. Police spoke with Melvin Fife who admitted to police that he was mad and broke his mother’s glass items and the mailbox. Fife was placed under arrest for criminal trespass under the Family Violence Act and two counts of failure to appear and was booked into the Chattooga County Jail.
