Summerville Man Convicted Of Trafficking Methamphetamine

On Tuesday, February 20, 2024, Brice Restan Ware, a 43-yearold man from Summerville, Georgia, was convicted by a Chattooga County jury on charges of Trafficking Methamphetamine and Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute after a jury deliberated for less than twenty minutes.

The Chattooga County Registrars Office says that they have issued 52 absentee by mail ballots in the 2024 Presidential Preference Primary.  As of Monday, February 26th, 426 Chattooga County voters had cast ballots for the March 12, 2024 Presidential Preference Primary.  There have not been any provisional ballots.  See below for a comparison to previous years voting for the first week of advanced voting in Chattooga County:

Chattooga Teacher Of The Year Announced

The Chattooga County School System has named the 2024-2025 District-Wide Teacher of the Year.  This year, the honor goes to Erin Iler Smith.  Smith teaches fourth grade English-Language-Arts at Leroy Massey Elementary School.
