A police pursuit ended with the suspect in custody and a damaged fence, according to the Summerville Police Department.

Early on the morning of July 5th, Summerville Police Officers were pursing a gray Honda, when it turned down Curran Street. The driver of the car, Christopher Edwards attempted to flee on foot, but he forgot to put the car in park when he jumped out. The Honda continued to roll forward where it struck a fence. It rolled over the fence and continued into the grass eventually coming to a stop. Edwards didn’t get far, and was placed under arrest.

Officers notified the homeowner of the damage to the fence and told them that a report would be placed on file. Edwards was transported to the Chattooga County Jail where he was booked on charges of non-criminal property damage.
