Chattooga County Commissioner Blake Elsberry announced this week that he has awarded bids to three local contractors to replace the roofs on three different county buildings.

The commissioner had asked for a bid for all three jobs – the Chattooga Senior Center, Chattooga EMA /911 building, and a building at Chattooga County Public Works on Stockade Road.  While the bids were submitted for all three jobs combined, each of the bids also listed each job individually.

Four contractor placed bids – three local and one from Tennessee.  The commissioner said that the bid from Tennessee was the highest, so he decided to give the lowest bids to each of the contractors who had submitted the lowest bids.

Work is expected to start on the roofs in the next few days.
