A 130 mile per hour chase from LaFayette to Chickamauga resulted in multiple charges from the Georgia State Patrol.
The chase started Wednesday night in LaFayette, as a Sheriffs Deputy tried to stop a vehicle with a headlight out. The vehicle headed North on Highway 27 at exceptionally high speed and the State Patrol was notified. A trooper conducted a pit maneuver to end the chase near Chickamauga; no one was hurt.
Thirty-nine-year-old Jeremy Dee Simmons had an outstanding warrant for his arrest… and the State Patrol added charges including speeding, disregarding stop lights, felony fleeing and eluding, reckless driving, improper use of center lane, no seatbelt and the headlight violation.
