The Chattooga Chamber is working with Chattooga County Sole Commissioner Blake Elsberry and Northwest Georgia Joint Development Authority (NWGJDA) Project Manager Spencer Hogg on a plan to help employees at Showa who will be losing their jobs when the Menlo plant closes in September.
The Northwest Georgia Regional Commission will be bringing a mobile unit to Menlo in August (dates are not yet confirmed) to help with this transition. The Georgia Department of Labor has launched its Rapid Response Unit as well.
