The Trion Police Department will be moving up to the school on the hill and the move will cost the Town of Trion $150,000.

The Summerville News reported this past week that the Town of Trion and Trion City Schools have reached an agreement whereby the school would build a new police station for the Trion Police Department as long as the town is willing to invest an non-refundable $150,000.

The current police station is located in the same building as Trion Town Hall and has been beleaguered with  structural and mold issues.

The Trion Town Council approved the proposal unanimously.  Trion School Superintendent Phil Williams said that he thinks the proposal is a “good move for everyone in Trion.”
