With school back in session and COVID-19 cases on the rise in Northwest Georgia, the Chattooga County Health Department is encouraging parents and caregivers to talk with children about COVID-19.

The Chattooga County Health Department posted:

COVID-19 has brought a lot of change and challenges. The coronavirus is still a battle we are facing as a nation. With school back in session, the Northwest Health District’s Emergency Preparedness team wants your children to continue to prepare and take precaution while in school. Let’s Prepare!

Health officials say that you should tell your children returning to school to wash their hands frequently.  Also, parents should talk with their children and instill caution but peace about being around other people.  They also encourage parents to make sure kids have a mask available if they are surrounded by a large crowd and to encourage children to engage and socialize safely.
