Chattooga County Tax Commissioner Joy Hampton says that her office underwent a deep cleaning and fumigation on Tuesday after the office had exposure to COVID-19.

Hampton said that she and a few of the staff were on hand on Tuesday for part of the day.

Tax Commissioner Hampton says, “Barring no other obstacles, the tag office will be open tomorrow with limited staff. We will close at 4:30 each day this week for cleaning, in hopes to remain open. We may not be able to catch the phone as there are 21 lines and 3 team members working. Just keep trying, or send a message.”

Hampton said that she will let local media know if there are any changes and you can also visit the tax commissioner’s Facebook Page for updates.
