Georgia’s popular Agricultural Commissioner, Gary Black, has garnered the support of over one-third of the state’s elected sheriffs.

The support is bipartisan, with at least five Democratic sheriffs from some of Georgia’s rural counties supporting the Ag Commissioner’s bid.

Earlier this month, Black’s campaign made the announcement that over one-third of the state’s sheriff had cast their support behind Black.  This week, fifteen more sheriffs added their support, including Walker County Sheriff Steve Wilson.

Tuesday’s announcement that football-star, and Trump-endorsed, Herschel Walker was entering the race for the Republican nomination for U.S. Senator against Black and four other Republicans will likely see a test of how much influence the former President has on Georgia’s Republican voters.
