After news came on Wednesday that Chattooga High School had reached the 5% threshold of positive COVID-19 cases, Chattooga County School Supt. Jared Hosmer said that he wanted to release the COVID numbers for the entire school system to “ease everyone’s minds.”

Hosmer said, “To ease everyone’s mind, I felt it necessary to share the Positive COVID numbers as of today (Wednesday 8/25) by school location. These numbers are from Saturday through Wednesday. As the attached chart shows, at the present time only Chattooga High School has reached the 5% threshold.  We will continue to monitor daily and adjust accordingly.”

There are 35 students at Chattooga High School which prompted school officials to close the high school on Thursday and Friday for cleaning.

New COVID numbers will be released at 1 PM Friday.
