Lincoln Alabama Police are looking for witnesses to a tragic accident on Wednesday of last week that took the life of a Summerville, Georgia woman.

According to authorities in Lincoln, Alabama, twenty-four-year-old Rebecca Kay Ledford was struck by a vehicle while walking at 5:30 AM on U.S. Highway 78 in Lincoln.  First responders provided medical attention, but despite their efforts, Ledford was pronounced dead on the scene.

Lincoln Police said that they were continuing to investigate the fatal accident, but asked for any witnesses to come forward.  Lincoln Police say that they will be turning over the results of their investigation to the Talladega County District Attorney.  The name of the driver of the vehicle has not been released.
