As the remnants of Ida move through Northwest Georgia, we could see some strong winds.  The National Weather Service in Peachtree City, Georgia says that we can expect gusty winds between 20 and 30 mph, which could lead to problems with downed trees, limbs and powerlines.

Heavy rain will saturate the ground and increase the possibility of downed trees and power lines. It would be a good idea to go ahead and secure outside furnishings and other items that might be susceptible to strong winds.  Also, be prepared in the event of a power outage.

Remember, if you see a downed power line – stay clear of the power line and call 911.
