The 2021 Chattooga County Agricultural Fair is in the books, but the Fair Council is looking toward the future with the new Junior Fair Council.

Fair Council Member Zach Hughes says, “A few weeks before the fair, the Fair Council was approached by Gracie Treadaway with the idea of creating a Junior Fair Council. With just 3 weeks before the fair, they were not able to organize and plan some of the things that they are wanting to do at the fair, but what they did do was show up this week and they have worked and helped with anything that has needed to be done at the fair. Setting up, breaking down, assisting with livestock shows just to name a few. ”

On Sunday evening, with the fair winding down, the Fair Council got all of the Junior Fair Council together and treated them to a helicopter ride as a show of appreciation for their hard work and dedication to this year’s fair.

Zach Hughes added, “Many people do not realize what an undertaking the fair is and I want to publicly thank and recognize these young people that understand what goes into this event, and that hopefully someday will become a part of the Fair Council”.

The Junior Fair Council includes Gracie Treadaway, Lane Bridges, CarolAnn Cash, Joshua Willingham.
