Northwest Georgia health officials are urging residents to get vaccinated, but the region remains one of the lowest in the state for vaccination rates.
According to the latest numbers, there have been 14,004 doses of the vaccine given to Chattooga County residents. Those numbers include county residents who have received the vaccine outside Chattooga County, but reside here.
Only 7,120 people in the county have been fully vaccinated – that’s a rate of 28.69%. The numbers show that 7,786 people have received at least one dose of the vaccine – or 31.37%.
Statewide, 4.47 million Georgians have been vaccinated which adds up to 42.1% of the population.
