According to a report released earlier this week by the Summerville Police Department, a forty-five-year-old Martin Dairy Road man came to the Chattooga County Agricultural Fair on August 26th an ran over a stop sign near Summerville Middle School.

When officers arrived on the scene they spoke with Brian Ely who admitted to drinking three alcoholic beverages before coming to the fair.  Officers also found open containers of alcohol in Ely’s vehicle.

After one field sobriety test, Ely told officers he wouldn’t consent to anymore tests because “enough tests was already run”.

Ely was booked into the Chattooga County Jail on charges of DUI and open container of alcohol along with traffic violations.
