A Summerville woman was arrested last week for meth and other drugs when a search of her car revealed the drugs.

On September 7th, while on patrol, Officers observed a Ford Ranger traveling down Commerce Street and weaving side to side in the lane. Initiating a traffic stop, they spoke with the driver, identified as Lorraine Shannon Morris. While Morris was searching for her drivers license she pulled the contents of her purse out where Officers spotted a suspicious looking substance. Officers asked for Morris to hand over the small baggie which contained a white, crystalline substance of suspected methamphetamine. After a closer inspection Officers asked Morris to step out of her vehicle and when she opened the door a strong odor of marijuana was detected. At this point Morris was placed in handcuffs and read her Miranda Rights. A further search inside the pocketbook revealed 3 white, small tablets labeled C2 which turned out to be Clonazepam 2mg which is a schedule 4 controlled substance. Also discovered was a baggy of a leafy green substance suspected to be Marijuana. Another pill bottle revealed a mixture of pills with the label on it stating it was prescribed to Lorraine Morris. Inside the bottle were a few pills discovered to be Oxycodone Hydrochloride which is a schedule 2 controlled substance.

Also inside the vehicle was a clear tube believed to be used in smoking meth. At this point Officers advised Morris that she was under arrest and she was transported to the Chattooga County Jail. Morris was charged with VGSCA less than 1 ounce, Possession of Methamphetamine, 2 counts of possession of Barbiturates’, Possession and Use of Drug related objects, and no insurance.
