Chattooga County Sheriff Mark Schrader said that a man working on a tree crew on Highway 27 that was struck by a vehicle on Wednesday afternoon, has passed away. 

According to the sheriff, the man was working with the crew on the side of Highway 27 near the Floyd County line, when he was accidently overrun by a co-worker.

The man was transported to a local hospital, but passed away shortly after the accident.

The Georgia State Patrol is still investigating the accident.  While no names have been released, Sheriff Schrader told WZQZ News that the man who passed away was from out of town.
