One City of Summerville employee has reported a theft of water services after noticing that a lock was cut off of a water meter.

City of Summerville employee Randy McNeese reported that on September 20th, they were sent to 88 Hartline Hill to turn off the water because the current resident and account holder was moving and wanted the water turned off. Two days later, City employees discovered that the lock had been cut off the meter and that someone had used 100 gallons of water. McNeese explained that he spoke to someone living at the residence and while trying to explain the situation, that they had gotten into their vehicle and left, only giving the name of Cody. Neighbors confirmed that a person named Cody had been staying at the house, but did not have any other information. This case is still active.
